Malpas residents are being asked to help shape plans that will create a new part of their community.

An area of land off Chester Road already has outline planning permission for up to 140 new homes as well an area of public open space, and Bovis Homes are now seeking views about their current proposals ahead of submitting a Reserved Matters application, which will cover the finer details of the new development.

The plans are set to deliver a mix of 137 homes, ranging from one-bed apartments to large five-bed family homes. Of these, 96 will be available for purchase on the open market, with 41 designated as affordable homes for local people currently unable to access the property market.

The proposals will be on display at a public consultation event at The Jubilee Hall on Malpas High Street between 10am and 8pm on Thursday August 13, and will be available on a dedicated website following the event.

Barry Herrod, Northern Region Technical Director said: “We’re excited about our plans for Malpas and we’d like to get local views about the proposed layout of this new neighbourhood and the type of quality new homes we are looking to build,”

“The land already has outline permission and now we are looking to ensure that the new homes will integrate with the existing properties and facilities, becoming an attractive and sustainable new part of the community that residents can be proud of.

“We have sent out more than 500 invitations to local homes and are hoping for a good attendance at the event, and plenty of visitors to our website when it goes live at www.bovishomes.co.uk/malpas.”

Members of the Bovis Homes team will be on hand to answer questions at the consultation event and visitors will be able to fill in feedback forms with their comments and ideas. There will also be a feedback facility on the website.
