Wedding bells are in the air for Britain's most violent prisoner Charles Bronson and his soap actress fiancée.

Sixty-four-year-old Bronson, who grew up in Ellesmere Port, will wed Paula Williamson, 37, at high-security Wakefield prison on November 14 after the jail's governor granted permission.

But strict rules will be in force on the big day.

Bronson, whose crimes include armed robbery, kidnap and threatening to eat another inmate, will be handcuffed to a warden.

Afterwards, a reception will be held at a local hotel.

But Paula will have to celebrate with pals as her husband – who now calls himself Charles Salvador after his artist idol – is returned to his cell, The Mirror reports.

A source said: “Paula and Charlie are delighted that they’ve finally set their wedding date and can become Mr and Mrs Salvador.

“Their only regret is that they aren’t allowed a honeymoon – a conjugal visit to consummate their marriage or conceive the child they both dream of.”

Bronson has spent the last 43 years behind bars at Britain’s most secure prisons because of his repeated violence.

But his fiancee of six months insists he has “strong morals and a heart of gold”.

Actress Paula, who has had small parts in Corrie, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks, gushed: “Having a baby would be amazing.”

And in August Bronson told a close friend: “I wanna be a dad and come out to a beautiful angel with a beautiful wife.

"So I’ll need all the info on having a test tube baby, or whatever it’s called.”

Bronson already has a son, Mike, born before he was jailed for the first time in 1974 for armed robbery.

He and his first wife Irene divorced in 1977.

A second marriage behind bars to a pen pal ended after four years.

In 2013 he began writing to Paula, from Stoke-on-Trent, and proposed on Valentine’s Day.
