STAFF and students at Sir John Deane's College have bade a fond farewell to two of their most senior colleagues.

Vice-principals Cherith Nixon and Tim Hill have clocked up a combined total of 43 years' service to the college.

They have seen thousands of students pass through the college doors and are sad to leave the 'energy and vibrant atmosphere' that fills the corridors and classrooms.

Principal Andrew Jones said: 'Cherith and Tim have given tremendous service to the college for over 20 years each.

'They will be hugely missed, not just for the range and quality of all that they have done for the college during their long and distinguished careers here, but also because they are tremendous personalities and lovely people. We offer them every good wish for a long, happy and fulfilled retirement.'
