PUPILS from Helsby High School returned to Kingsley St John’s C of E Primary School to thank their former teacher for helping them achieve outstanding results.

The Holllow Lane school exceeded national averages at Key Stage 2 SATs with 100% of its pupils achieving at least level four – the national standard expected – in all subjects and 75% gaining all level five grades.

Headteacher Ann Griffiths said: “We are delighted that the hard work of the children and staff was recognised in their results.

“We are also very proud of the progress made by all our children throughout the school.”

The pupils returned to the school to thank their former teacher Janet Dearden.

“I enjoyed Kingsley St John’s because it was a nice tight community,” said former pupil Christopher Sherlock.

“We all helped each other.

“I liked all the residential visits, especially Lakeside.”
