A MAN currently serving time in prison for blowing up post boxes has been committed to crown court on paedophile charges.

Thousands of pornographic images and videos were allegedly found on the computer of Tristan Brown.

Brown of Crossfields, Tarvin, appeared before Chester Magistrates on Wednesday charged with one count of possessing 12,165 images and videos of children, one of distributing pornographic images of children and 15 of making pornographic images.

The court heard 152 images found on the computer, including eight videos, were of the most serious nature.

On Wednesday, magistrates committed Brown to Chester Crown Court on July 9th for a plea and directions hearing.

The material was found on Brown's computer following his arrest in November for his part in the post box bombings in rural Cheshire last summer.

Brown, 27, is currently serving an 18-month sentence at Liverpool Altcourse prison for that crime.

Magistrates deemed the charges too serious for them to deal with. He was given technical unconditional bail as he is serving a prison sentence.
