Peace campaigner Colin Parry is appearing in the Port Arcades Shopping Centre in Ellesmere Port on Friday (March 7).

As part of the Ellesmere Port Arts Festival the centre has invited Colin to speak about the themes of Peace, Forgiveness and Reconciliation.

Colin, who lost his 12 year old son Tim in an IRA bomb attack in Warrington in 1993, has been a tireless campaigner for peace ever since.

The vision of Tim's parents, Wendy and Colin Parry, was to provide a safe space for people of all ages, regardless of their faith, race, politics, nationality, or any other excuse for injustice and violence, to learn how to live together in peace.

This came to fruition in March 2000 when the Peace Centre opened in Warrington.

Speaking on behalf of the Port Arcades Shopping Centre, Michelle Pickstock, said:“We are delighted that Colin has agreed to join us to celebrate the start of the Ellesmere Ports Art Festival.

“Colin’s strength and courage are an inspiration to us all.”

A limited number of tickets remain for the event which takes place at 6.45pm.

The event is free but ticket is strictly by admission only and no tickets will be available on the evening.
