Chart-topping pop star Will Young has become the latest celebrity to perform at The Prince’s Trust Eaton Park Gala Ball in Chester.
The event raised £150,000 for The Prince’s Trust charity in the year of its 40th anniversary.
The singer-songwriter joins a long list of impressive performers including Jools Holland, Bryan Ferry and Lulu who have all entertained at the gala ball. Funds raised from the event will go towards supporting the region’s most marginalised and disadvantaged young people with this year’s special event forming part of the trust’s wider 40th anniversary celebrations.

The gala ball was held in the grounds of Eaton Park, by kind permission of the Duke and Duchess of Westminster.
More than 300 guests gathered for the glamorous black tie evening gala hosted by stand-up comedian and actor Omid Djalili. The sold out event included a Laurent-Perrier champagne reception followed by a meal created especially for the occasion by Cheshire based catering company Dougherty and Allen.
Sponsored by jewellers, Boodles, the evening saw guests bidding for auction lots including dinner at Highgrove for 20 people, a week at an exclusive club in Barbados and a champagne flight in the Duke of Westminster’s private jet.

Guests also had the chance to hear directly from a young person who turned their life around with support from the youth charity. Prince’s Trust Young Ambassador Nicole Gee shared her experiences of attending several Prince’s Trust programmes which supported her into successfully applying for and receiving a local traineeship.
Nicole said: “With help from The Prince’s Trust, I’ve learned not to let my past affect my future. I’m not going to allow my bad experiences to stand in the way of being happy and succeeding in life. I want to do things that will make people proud of me and most of all, proud of myself.”

Chairman of the Eaton Park Gala Ball Committee and chair of The Prince’s Trust North West Development Committee, David Pollock, said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to our supporters for making this event such a success. The trust has supported over 4,600 disadvantaged young people in the North West into work, education or training over the past year so funds raised from this evening are vital in continuing that important work.”
Youth charity The Prince’s Trust gives disadvantaged young people the skills and confidence to find a job. Three in four young people helped by The Prince’s Trust move into work, training or education.
