A BLACON man has been arrested after police took to the air to coordinate a search this morning (Friday).

The 40-year-old male, who was wanted by police for failing to comply with a community order, ran away from officers on the ground when he was approached at 7.40am.

Patrol officers, dog handlers and the Cheshire Police airplane joined forces to begin their search, after the man fled into nearby fields.

Officers in the plane were given a physical description of the man and it was confirmed that there were no members of the public in the surrounding area.

He was finally arrested three hours later at 10.45am in an alleyway near Cadments Close in Blacon.

Police had initially issued a warrant for the arrest after the man failed to complete his community service work.
