A police helicopter was sent out over Frodsham to track a suspected stolen car.

A 22-year-old man from Runcorn was arrested on suspicion of burglary and stealing a vehicle, but two other suspects escaped.

The chopper was dispatched from NPAS Hawarden after the driver did not stop for police in the town at 8.56pm on December 23.

Cheshire Police followed the car which was eventually abandoned in St Luke’s Way, metres from Frodsham Police Station on Ship Street.

The 22-year-old was arrested at the scene on suspicion of burglary, taking a vehicle without consent and failing to stop.

He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

A search was held for two other men who had bolted from the car, but neither of them could be found.
