HAVE Your Say Meetings with Cheshire Police Authority will no longer be held in Frodsham and Helsby after April.

The meetings, formally known as police forums, are held by Cheshire Police Authority to allow communities to voice their opinions and hear what major strategies police are operating.

Lead member of engagement Moira Chapman, of the police authority, said: “The meetings move around the local authority areas, we used to move around Vale Royal, with the boundaries changing we are going to be moving around Cheshire West and Chester and focusing on Chester, Northwich, Winsford and Ellesmere Port, the bigger areas. In the future we might go back to Frodsham.

“The Have Your Say Meetings used to be our most critical way of getting information to the public and sharing information with them. We have moved on from that and in terms of giving information the difference between now and even three years ago, with neighbourhood policing units and the internet, we have seen a massive improvements.

“In Frodsham and Helsby there is a really strong Community Safety Action Group so people can access community issues. The meetings are supposed to be about strategy issues rather than day to day policing. ”
