A young man’s face could be left permanently scarred after he was assaulted in a Frodsham bar at the weekend.

The man, believed to be in his early 20s,  had been enjoying a night out at Mojito’s bar on the town’s High Street when he went into the men’s toilets in the early hours of  Saturday.

While in there he struck up a conversation with another man who appeared ‘quite  confrontational’.

But as the victim turned to leave, another male, who is believed to have been holding a  glass, punched him in the face twice.

His injuries were so severe that the victim is expected to require stitches in his face.

PC Adam Norton from Cheshire police said: “There is every reason to suggest this young man will be permanently scarred following this incident.

“We are currently investigating, with the help of CCTV images but we would appeal  for any witnesses to come forward if they have any information at all.”

Anyone with any details relating to this  assault is urged to call Cheshire police on  101, quoting incident 95. Information can also be passed on anonymously, via  Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
