POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a robbery at a Helsby petrol station.

At 10pm on Sunday (July 24), a cashier at Three Ways Garage on Chester Road was closing the premises for the night when she was approached by a man and forced back inside the garage.

Once inside, a second man appeared and the two bound the cashier's hands and feet with tape.

The offenders then raided the store and stole cash and cigarettes, as well as the victim's Toyota Yaris and made off.

The car was later found abandoned on Denbigh Avenue, Helsby.

The first offender is described as white, 23 to 24 years old, with a tanned complexion. He is 5'8 to 5'9 tall, and skinny and was wearing a black hoodie, black leather gloves, and a light grey tracksuit and trainers.

The second offender is described as white, 26 to 27 years old with a pale complexion. He is of chubby build and 5'6 to 5'7, with a stubbly face. He was wearing a dark hoodie and dark clothing.
