POLICE are appealing to the public to help trace a man suspected of committing a sexual assault in a Chester village earlier this week.

Cheshire police were contacted when the victim, a woman local to the Farndon area, reported that a man had visited her home at about 6pm on Tuesday, December 13.

The man gained access to her home and sexually assaulted her. He fled the scene on foot after the incident onto High Street, Farndon.

Cheshire Constabulary spokeswoman Shelley Williams said: “Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the suspect fleeing the scene.

“He is described as a black or Asian man aged approximately 35 years, with black hair, dark eyes and a wide forehead.

“He was dressed in dirty blue jeans and a brown t-shirt with offensive wording.

The investigation team hope to release an e-fit of the suspect in due course.
