Police investigating a sexual assault at an address in Chester are appealing for witnesses who may have seen a distressed woman in her twenties flagging down cars on Tarvin Road in Boughton shortly before 3am on February 14.

A 31-year-old man from Chester has been arrested as part of the investigation and been bailed.

DC Kev Lloyd, from the Cheshire police dedicated rape unit, said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who was passing through the area at the time who may have witnessed this.

"You may have not stopped at the time because it was late at night and you did not feel safe, or you may not have been able to stop for whatever reason.

"But if you can remember this moment we′d urge you to contact us on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers."
