Officers from Chester Outer Neighbourhood Policing Unit are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery in Blacon.

At around 8.30pm on Monday, April 27, a 26-year-old woman was walking her tan-coloured Staffordshire Bull Terrier near Nant Peris flats on Treborth Road when she was approached by a man riding a pedal cycle.

The man attempted to take the dog from the victim, but she resisted and the offender then punched the victim in the face before unsuccessfully attempting to take the dog again.

The victim then shouted that she would call the police at which point the offender left the scene heading off along Treborth Road on his bicycle.

As a result of the incident, the victim has sustained bruising and swelling to her right cheekbone.

The offender is described as a white male of thin build with short, grey or white hair, with a tattoo on the right side of his neck which was approximately 3 inches in length.

He was wearing a dark blue or black zip-up jacket and riding a lighter coloured blue pedal cycle.

Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire police on 101 quoting incident number 826 of April 27, 2015.
