POLICE are appealing for information following a robbery in Chester.

At about 8.30pm on Thursday November 22, a 64-year-old woman, had just returned to her car on Northern Pathway off St John's Road in Handbridge and was just getting inside when she was pushed by a man who grabbed her handbag.

The man then fled with the bag towards the direction of Queen's Park High School.

The victim was not injured in the incident but was left shaken by her ordeal.

Police have described the man as being in his 20s or 30s, about 5'7" tall with a stocky build.

He was wearing a black balaclava and a jacket which was possibly light khaki in colour.

DC Stuart Thomas of Chester CID said:

“We take all reports of this nature extremely seriously and are doing everything we can to trace the offender.

“We ask anyone with any information which could assist our enquiries to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 1022 of 22 November 2012.

“Information can also be left anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111,” he said.
