AN ORANGERY had permission in a complex of converted barns.

The conservatory was proposed by Dr Neil Barlow at the rear of The Honeydew, Watery Lane, Frodsham.

The barns, in the borough's green belt, are in the former grounds of a grade two listed farmhouse, according to a report.

No comments were made by local borough councillors Andrew Dawson and Lynn Riley or by Frodsham Town Council.

Two neighbours told Cheshire West and Chester Council they had no objection.

The attractive and well preserved former barn has retained much of its character despite the conversion to residential, the report stated.

The orangery would be modest and would not detract from its appearance.

There would be no unduly large addition to the floor space of the dwelling and no detrimental effect on the character and appearance of that part of the borough's green belt.

Adjacent properties would not be overlooked.

The application was recommended for approval and the borough council agreed Dr Barlow could have permission.
