CREWE-based Oxley's Funeral Services is offering Chronicle readers a blast from the past for charity.

The Oxley's 2007 calendar features 12 superb historic pictures of Crewe, which capture the town's industrial past, its architectural achievements and the unfaltering community spirit.

A limited 50 copies of the calendar are available now from the Chronicle office in Victoria Street, each on sale in return for a minimum donation of £2. All the money raised will go directly to the Emmie Dixon Home in Richmond Road, Crewe, which cares for people with physical and learning disabilities.

Oxley's co-owner Jeff Oxley said: 'The calendar is a great way of raising money for such a great local cause.

'Although the minimum donation is £2, we are hoping the people of Crewe can give as much as possible, because it all goes to charity.'

Emmie Dixon Home manager Debbie Owen added: 'I think the calendars are a wonderful idea and we are very thankful to Bill, Jeff and the team at Oxley's for all their kind help.'

The calendars will go to the first 50 people who call into the Chronicle office at 32-34 Victoria Street with a donation.
