Racegoers heading to the popular Ladies Day at Chester Racecourse were not put off by the grey clouds looming over the city.
Fascinators and hats galore brightened up the scene on the second day of action of the Boodles May Festival.
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney and his wife Coleen were backing the runners and the riders from the County Stand, joined by midfielder Darren Fletcher and his wife Hayley Grice.
Fellow Manchester United players Danny Welbeck and Ashley Young were spotted yesterday during Chester Cup day action along with former England player Michael Owen and his wife Louise and comedian John Bishop.
The Chester Chronicle's communities team Rhiannon Bevan, Sallie Ehlen and Cathy Chaloner were out and about encouraging people to tweet races 'selfies' which will be included in a round up gallery at the end of the festival.
