A team of cyclists from a Chester based IT and communications company have put pedal power into efforts to raise funds for Claire House Children’s Hospice.
The team of eight from Pescado donned their lycra, packed their puncture kits and set off from London to Paris on Monday, July 11.
They cycled to Felixstowe to take the ferry across the channel to Dieppe before getting back in the saddle and completing the gruelling 190.6 mile challenge travelling via Beauvais and arriving in Paris at around 2pm on Wednesday, July 13.
Earlier in the year they opened up the challenge to other businesses and invited them to join them.
They had two willing volunteers one from electrical wholesalers TN Robinson and one from DRD Communications.
The team have already raised more than £6,000 in sponsorship between them but have a total target of £10,000 which they would love to hit and are still working towards.
Managing director Fraser Watson said: “It is a great feeling to have arrived and completed our route. There are some very tired legs and sore bums but everyone thrilled to finish at the iconic arc de triumph!”
He added: “Claire House is an incredible organisation, they do truly amazing work for children and their families in the local area. We’re really pleased to have been raising money for them. It has been lovely to engage with suppliers and customers as well as cyclists from operational, technical and sales teams. People have been so generous and I’d like to thank everyone who has sponsored us or helped us in some other way.
“The cycle was hard going at times but with such a good team we’ve had a lot of fun and supported each other along the way. We were spurred on at every turn by the knowledge that we were raising much needed funds for such a fantastic cause.”
