A CHESHIRE restaurant has scooped a prestigious Taste Cheshire Award from Visit Chester and Cheshire.

The new quality assured award was given to the 1851 restaurant at Peckforton Castle following a mystery shop made by Quality in Tourism at the end of last year and it now sits alongside the 1851 restaurant’s two AA rosettes.

The award was presented to Peckforton Castle’s food and beverage manager, Stuart Darby by David Jackson, visitor information and quality manager, Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) at a presentation ceremony held at the castle.

Peckforton Castle managing director Chris Naylor, said: “We work with only the best local suppliers whose exacting standards meet ours to ensure the quality of the ingredients. This quality control then continues from kitchen to plate and through to the whole dining experience. This award is testament to our commitment to be a leading venue not only for accommodation, but for food too.”

Peckforton Castle has now introduced a privilege card giving 10% off meals in the 1851 restaurant.
