TWO men will be asked to enter pleas to a murder charge on Friday in an unusual case in which a body was never found.

Rossett man Paul Billington, 39, from Llyndir Lane, Rossett, near Chester, and Mark Done, 47, of Old Chester Road, Barbridge, Nantwich, will appear at Chester Crown Court charged with the murder of missing father-of-six John Iveson.

Mr Iveson, 41, from Nantwich, was last seen on January 30, 2007.

His body has never been recovered but an extensive police investigation led to the arrest of four men on suspicion of murder last June.

The other two, a 63-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent and a 36-year-old man from Crewe, were released without charge.

The defendants, who appeared before Judge Elgan Edwards, Recorder of Chester, last October were remanded in custody.

A trial is provisionally scheduled to start at Chester Crown Court on February 28.

In 2008 detectives offered a reward of £30,000 in a bid to trace Mr Iveson.

He was said to have business dealings in the demolition and construction trade.
