VERY well behaved children at a village out of school club feel a sense of ownership, an Ofsted inspector believes.

Sarah Rhodes offered the view after inspecting Huntington Out of School at Huntington County Primary School, Butterbache Road, Huntington.

Overall she rated the club, which has 35 children attending, as ‘good’.

The club has use of the main school hall, computer room and other classrooms if needed, according to her report. There is a fully enclosed area for outdoor play.

The group offers term time care to pupils of the school and a holiday club for the village. There are seven members of staff.

The inspector found the children's decision making skills are well-developed as their ideas and opinions for activities are sought.

This means they enjoy their leisure time and feel a sense of ownership of their club.

They are very well-behaved and older children take time to encourage younger children which promotes a friendly atmosphere.

Parents praise the wide range of activities and the extensive efforts of staff which help them and their children feel comfortable and confident.

To further improve the inspector suggested the club should develop partnership working with other providers to obtain a fuller picture of the children's next steps.
