THE Olympic Torch made an extra special visit to a Tattenhall nursery during its visit to Chester last week.

Staff and youngsters at Sandy Bear’s Nursery in Tattenhall spent a morning making their own torches and taking part in a special relay, only to be visited by the real thing when trainer Donald McCain, whose son attends the nursery, briefly brought it in to show everyone.

Mr McCain was the trainer of Grand National winning horse Ballabriggs, ridden by jockey Jason Maguire who carried the torch through Chester during the relay last week.

Laura Rigby, manager of Sandy Bear’s, said everyone was ‘over the moon’ to experience history.

“This is such a wonderful piece of history – a picture we hope they’ll all look back on for years to come,” she said.
