FORMER pupils of Helsby Grammar School, with many Runcornians among them, joined together to toast a re-union.

The old boys, who joined the school in 1951, enjoyed a guided tour of the school, before assembling for dinner at the Forest Hills hotel in Helsby.

Ex-pupil and Runcorn man Terry O'Neill raised a glass to the old school before providing musical accompaniment to some traditional school anthems.

Reunion organiser Stuart Nickson said: 'The school's reputation has continued to grow handsomely over the years and has clearly influenced the lives and careers of the class of '51 and others.'

Stuart is now looking to contact former pupils in the Run-corn area for the next reunion.
