It all adds up for children at St Theresa’s Catholic Primary School in Blacon.

The youngsters have been taking part in a Maths Week project with activities including a fun morning with parents, daily maths challenges and times table quizzes.

All classes have moved maths outdoors and used the whole school environment.

The main focus of the week has been times tables and problem solving and a daily morning maths challenge. Also Keystage 2 pupils have taken part in a house team quiz focusing on reasoning, calculations, shape and space, measure and time.

The week was finished off with a Mad Mathematics Hat assembly with prizes awarded for the most original and best hat designs. Certificates have also been awarded for most improved at times tables and also outstanding effort in maths during the week.

Headteacher Nicola Kirkman thanked deputy headteacher Andrew Harvey and all the staff at school for planning and preparing such an exciting week of mathematics themed learning activities and families for their maths hat creativity.
