SCHOOL children who won a competition to design health and safety posters for Taylor Wimpey were invited to the house builder’s Eden Grange development to collect their prizes.

Key stage 2 pupils from Norley CE Primary School were asked to design a poster on how to be vigilant around construction sites and discourage other children from entering a site where building was on-going.

The entries were of an extremely high standard, but three stood out.

The winners were presented with WH Smith vouchers from Sarah McKeown, sales executive on the development.

She said: “Cuddington is a beautiful village location and the local schools are at the heart of this community.

“We wanted to engage with pupils in the area to ensure they are aware of health and safety around the site and the posters have demonstrated they really understand the key messages. The three winning entries were particularly well thought through and were very creative.”

Helen Kelly, acting headteacher of Norley Primary School, said: “It is great when local companies can involve our pupils with projects, especially when topics relate to child safety.

“All of our students who entered really got to grips with the dangers building sites could pose and I was really pleased with all the entries. ”

Jared Williams was awarded first place because his attention to detail was very impressive.

Second place was awarded to a poster designed jointly by Charlotte Smith and Eleanor Cosford and third place went to Abi Goodier.
