NORLEY Primary School pupils and staff are celebrating success in two inspections.

The school, in Hough Lane, was rated good or excellent by Ofsted and inspectors from the Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools (SIAS) team.

Headteacher Ann Griffiths said: “It is wonderful to see what we feel is so special and unique about the school being validated.

“The reports said some wonderful things about the children, commenting on their impeccable behaviour and positive attitudes to learning as well as their high standards of achievement.”

The Ofsted report also commented on how good the school is in developing artistic and music skills and the ‘family atmosphere’.

Mrs Griffiths added: “The church inspector made particular mention of our ‘caring harmonious community atmosphere'.

“At Norley, we pride ourselves on our caring, Christian family-orientated Šapproach and our ability to cater for the individual.

“Thanks must go to all the hard work of staff, parents/carers, governors, the parish and the wider community for helping us to achieve this.”

Norley Primary School is in a federation with Kingsley St John CE Primary School, in Kingsley, which means they share a governing body and a headteacher.

The Ofsted report states that Ann Griffiths “despite dividing her time between the two federated schools, is highly influential in maintaining a most positive ethos, in seeking further improvements in pupils’ achievements and in the quality of provision.”

The Ofsted inspector visited the school on April 22. The inspector wrote to pupils saying that he was impressed with their keenness to learn.
