AN EXTENSION was proposed to a green belt bungalow.

The application was made at 10 Middlecroft, Guilden Sutton, by Richard Gregg.

Mr Gregg told borough planners he was seeking approval for a single-storey extension at the rear of the dwelling.

No objections were raised by Guilden Sutton Parish Council although planners were asked to consider the overall increase in the floor space of the previously extended home.

There were no representations from neighbours who were consulted.

Overall, the extension would add almost 50% to the original dwelling, planners explained.

Due to its location on the estate, a large garden and to the extension being at the rear, they did not believe the new build would appear as an unduly large addition which would harm that part of the borough’s green belt.

It would have no affect on the appearance of Middlecroft.

The extension would not harm the character of the dwelling or its surroundings.

Planners concluded, however, the property had reached its physical limits for extensions and no further new build should be permitted.

The application was recommended for approval and the borough council agreed the extension could have permission subject to conditions.
