Newton Primary School hosting their first football match of the season

Newton Primary School has hosted its first football matches of the season.

The match against Mill View was in the first round of the Chester and District Primary Schools’ Cup.

It was a close game with teams being goalless at half time. Newton emerged the stronger team after the break with some decisive strikes to make it 3-0. Mill View scored a consolation goal near the end to make the final score 3-1.

The other match against The Firs’ School was action-packed with many goals on show. The friendly fixture finished with Newton winning convincingly 8-1.

Both teams were wearing the new football kit which had been funded by a parent, the school’s active PTA and from school funds.
