NEWTON Primary School pupils are getting in training for the London 2012 Olympics.
The school has become a member of the Get Set 2012 Network, the official London 2012 Olympics education programme for schools. The programme is for schools demonstrating a commitment to the Olympic values of friendship, excellence and respect together with the Paralympic values of inspiration, determination, courage and equality through the sharing of ideas and resources.
Pupils are now thinking of ideas for how the Olympics can become part of school life during the summer term. Suggestions include an Olympic Sports Day with opening and closing ceremonies.
