THE New Year brought some new faces to the Countess of Chester Hospital.

Hoole mum Ewelina Stelmach gave birth to Szymon just after noon on January 1 weighing 8lb 1oz. Ewelina and her husband Lukasz moved from Poland to Chester 18 months ago.

Later in the day new mum Hannah Chorley, of Tattenhall, gave birth to Imogen Hope, her and husband Nathan’s first child. Imogen arrived at 7.08pm, weighing 6lbs 4oz.

Hannah said: “Imogen was due on January 3 but I started having contractions on New Year’s Day and went in to hospital at about 4pm. It was all very straight forward and I was back home by the next day.”

Hannah and Nathan are from the Isle of Man and now live in Tattenhall.

Other New Year babies were George Harry Connolly, from Tarvin, who was born at 11.04am, weighing 8lb 1oz followed at 11.52am, by Theo Joseph Kilcoyne from Lache weighing 6lb 1oz.

Finally, tipping the scales at 3.5kg, was baby Dominik, son of Adriana Karazniewicz of Ellesmere Port.
