The newly refurbished Edinburgh Woollen Mill on Eastgate Street Row has been opened by the Sheriff of Chester.

Alex Black and his wife Janet cut a red ribbon as the store reopened its doors after a revamp inside and out.

To celebrate the reopening, staff greeted the first 20 customers to make a purchase in store with a goody bag containing gifts including a tartan mug and shortbread.

The refurbishment includes improvements to the store layout as well as the installation of brand new flooring, lighting and signage.

The revamped store will offer mens and ladies wear including Country Rose, Isle, Honor Millburn and James Pringle.

Other highlights include new capsule collections and seasonal knits from Isle and the flattering new ensembles from Honor Milburn.

The retailer will also stock a full range of accessories as well as featuring favourites from its luxury cashmere range for men and women and label Harris Tweed.

Area manager Lesley Olive said: “I’m delighted to see the Sheriff of Chester join us to help celebrate this landmark re-opening and welcome customers old and new to take a look at the makeover.

“All our staff at the store are working very hard to ensure the revamp looks fantastic and I can’t wait to unveil it to our customers in Chester. The new-look store is the perfect setting to showcase our fantastic collections for the autumn/winter season.”
