The new Subway store will open on August 29 at the Greyhound Retail Park, off Greyhound Park Road, next to what will be a second Home Bargains for the city when it launches in September.
In the weeks following the official opening, customers will be offered any 6” sub and a drink for £1.
The new store, which was originally due to open last month, will create up to 15 full and part time jobs for local residents, with opportunities to progress to management.
Owned and operated by entrepreneur Graeme Keast, the businessman already owns another Subway store in nearby Sealand Road and six stores in total across the North West.
He said: “I am extremely proud to be expanding my portfolio of stores to meet the increasing demand in the area for our freshly prepared and made to order subs. Greyhound Retail Park is a fantastic location and the new store will give residents and tourists alike more choice and options with real value.
“It also offers the opportunity to employ local people – across my stores 25% of employees have progressed to management roles in the last year. I look forward to welcoming customers to the grand opening sale later this month.”
Subway regional development agent Neil Denny added: “The Subway brand is made up of hundreds of local entrepreneurs like Graeme who have worked hard to build up their businesses in their local community, creating jobs for local people. We have no doubt the store will be a great success.”
The new store will open from 7am to 9pm Monday to Saturday and from 9am to 8pm on Sundays, featuring state-of-the-art furniture, ‘premium’ coffee machine and indoor seating for 60 people. Those wanting to be kept up to speed with the latest offers and job opportunities should ‘Like’ Subway Sealand Road and Greyhound Retail on Facebook.
Subway claims to be the world’s largest specialist sandwich provider with more than 2,300 sandwich shops in the UK and Ireland, all individually owned and operated by franchisees.
Home Bargains, which is next door, opens on September 24 and a recruitment drive is under way.
