A village fair which has raised over £72,000 for charity since the millennium is looking forward to another successful event this year.

Neston Village Fair is taking place on Saturday, July 2 from 1pm to 4.30pm on the Comrades’ Field behind the parish church on High Street, Neston.

The annual charity fair at the heart of the market town, which has now been running for 17 years, is said to be one of the most well supported events in the area with bargains galore and fun for all the family.

The entry fee is still £1 with children under 16 free offering the best value for money event this summer the organising committee suggests.

The event is underwritten by the parochial church council for Neston parish which provides the venue and arranges the facilities and resources to provide the community with a fun day out.

Local charities and other good causes are able to raise much needed funds they would otherwise find difficult to do with the fair attracting well over 2,000 people each year.

The fair will open with the arrival of the rose queen, her attendant and the deputy mayor in classic cars at 1pm to be greeted by the Air Training Corps marching band followed by the crowning of the rose queen.
