Alerts have been issued by Cheshire police following thefts in Neston.

PCSO Linda Conway, who patrols the market town, warns there have been a number of recent thefts and attempted thefts of motorbikes in the area.

Cheshire police are asking all owners to ensure their bikes are secured and to report any suspicious activity through the non-emergency phone number 101.

Police are also reminding residents to take extra care over the security of their sheds and outbuildings and their contents.

This follows the report of the theft of a lawnmower and tools from an outbuilding in the town.

Police are advising residents to mark tools and equipment with their postcode and if possible to secure items such as bikes and lawnmowers to a fixed object to prevent their removal.

Occupiers should report any suspicious activity to 101.
