Warm hearted air cadets came to the aid of a poorly four-year-old.

Over the years members of 2375 (Neston) Squadron have raised hundreds of pounds for different charities.

This year was no different except the squadron chose to fundraise for the little boy, George Johnson, who has suffered from an undiagnosed condition that affects his digestive system since birth.

George struggles to eat or drink and is fed instead through a tube. So far, he has endured 75 operations and his parents are desperate for answers and a cure.

Family and friends are raising funds to take George to Ohio in the hopes that consultants there can help him and give him a diagnosis.

Cadets gained sponsorships and raised money with Cpl Nathan Fields bringing in a staggering £301.20. For his achievement, CO Fl Lt Paul Thelwell handed over a gift voucher for £20.

The cadets have presented a £500 cheque to George to go towards getting him to America.

A spokesperson said: “The entire squadron wish George all the very best and hope that he and his family get the help they so desperately need.”
