CREAMFIELDS 2006 generated a massive £5.4m bonus for Halton's visitor economy.

Total visitor spending was £6.7m and about 80% of that remained within Widnes and Runcorn, as well as in Cheshire.

More than 41,000 visitors attended the Creamfields event in Daresbury during the August Bank Holiday weekend, 90% of them coming from out-side the borough.

This year's total spend, excluding the cost of tickets, represents a 94% increase on the income generated from the 2004 Creamfields event at Speke in Liverpool.
