Hotel fright night

A CHESTER hotel is inviting guests to be a detective for the evening this Friday.

The event, which starts at 7.30pm, is being held at the Ramada Jarvis, Whitchurch Road, Christleton.

With the chance to ‘solve the ultimate crime’ during a night of suspense and intrigue, the evening includes a two-course meal plus entertainment and costs £16.95 per person.

Discounted accommodation for guests attending the event is £60 per room including breakfast.

Pony fundraiser

PARKGATE Pony Sanctuary is holding its annual open days this weekend as it continues to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

The Raby Park Road sanctuary will throw open its doors to the public from 11am on Saturday and Sunday.

A dog show organised by Jayde Dog Grooming salon in Ellesmere Port will take place at 1pm on the Saturday to help raise funds.

Family research

IF YOU have relatives from Rossett, there’s an opportunity this weekend to consult the registers at Rossett Church.

The organiser Richard Huxley said: “As part of the Open Churches Network, we held a similar weekend in 2007 which was very popular. Anyone is welcome to research the records of baptisms, weddings and funerals to find details of their relatives.”

The event is on Saturdayfrom 10.30am-3.30pm and Sunday, from 11am-3.30pm.

Hospice concert aid

A CONCERT in aid of the Hospice of the Good Shepherd is being given by the Chester Ladies’ Choir and The Millhouse Green Male Voice Choir from Yorkshire, with guest soprano Helen Strange.
