Drivers are facing long delays tonight (Friday), following a lorry crash on the M56.

Two HGVs, one believed to have been carrying wine bottles, collided between junctions 12-14 near the Frodsham turnoff, just before 1pm in a coned off area but North West Highways Agency have had to close the slip road in order to clean up the debris.

Emergency services were on the scene but it has been said there are no serious injuries.

However, the accident is causing severe backlogs eastbound while Highways work to clear the road.
