Motorists are experiencing severe traffic delays after police closed a road following a gas leak in Christleton.
Traffic is building up close to the ‘hamburger’ roundabout at Caldy Valley in Great Boughton as emergency repairs are carried out on the gas main after a leak was reported at 3.15pm today.
Currently the A41 Whitchurch Road at the junction at Pepper Street and the A55 at Rowton past the Cheshire Cat are closed and motorists are experiencing extensive delays in both directions between the Rowton Bridge junction and Sainsbury’s.
Police and other emergency services are at the scene of the incident, and police are advising members of the public to avoid the area until further notice.
