A MOTORIST who was ticketed after stopping her car to post a letter has branded the borough traffic wardens 'very unfair'.

The woman, who doesn't want to be named, parked her car in Marina Drive, Ellesmere Port, shortly after 9am on Friday to quickly use the postbox. She has a disabled badge on display in her vehicle.

She said: 'Suddenly the wardens appeared and told me I was incorrectly parked. That I wasn't within the white lines (of the parking bay). I was 2ins over.

'What is this council coming to when their wardens are like this? I got a ticket for £40 and have no choice but to pay it. But I think this is very unfair.

'This council doesn't deserve to have people coming here, parking and going shopping if they do this to motorists.'

Borough head of property and support services, Jane Williamson, said: 'The lady had parked across two parking bays.

'A member of the public approached one of our wardens to complain that he couldn't park as a result of two bays being taken up by one car.

'Unfortunately this left us with no choice but to issue a ticket.'
