Motorcyclist killed in two vehicle crash on outskirts of Chester

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was killed on the outskirts of Chester.

The male rider of the Ducati was heading towards Helsby on the A56 Warrington Road, at Morley Bridge, when he was involved in a collision as he overtook a Fiat Punto travelling in the same direction but turning right.


The motorcyclist, from St Helens, was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital with serious neck injuries following the collision, which happened about 1.40pm on Sunday, but later died. His next of kin have been informed.


Fortunately, the 85-year-old driver of the Fiat, from Mobberley, was uninjured.
