A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital with a 'major trauma injury' to his leg following a crash in Tarvin .

Two rapid response vehicles, a doctor and an air ambulance were called to the accident on the A54 Kelsall Road shortly before 2pm today (Friday, September 9).

The motorcyclist was airlifted to Aintree hospital with what has been described by North West Ambulance Service as a 'major trauma injury to his leg'.

No other injuries were reported following the accident, which also involved a Ford Focus car.

Cheshire Police were in attendance and closed the road while the scene was recovered, affecting traffic in the area.

A spokesman for Cheshire Constabulary said: “We received reports of an accident on the A54 Kelsall Road in Tarvin just before 2pm near the co-op.

“An ambulance and a helimed was in attendance.

“A man is believed to have suffered serious injuries.”
