A crash on Parkgate Road through Mollington saw two people taken to hospital.

They included a man who had to be freed by firefighters after the two-car collision near the Wheatsheaf Inn.

Emergency services were called to the scene at about 6.30pm on Thursday (April 28).

'Precautionary measures'

'As precautionary measures', the man was taken to the Royal Liverpool Hospital and a woman to the Countess of Chester Hospital .

The crash involved a blue Audi A3 and a red Seat Ibiza.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "When they arrived crews found that the incident involved two cars.

"There was a man trapped in one car. Special cutting equipment was used to free him.

"He was then passed to the care of the ambulance service and taken to hospital."
