A Chester-based arts company are bringing their successful Youth Theatre to Northwich.

Minerva Arts already runs two groups in Chester for both 11-18 year olds and 7-11 year olds, and have around 40 young people regularly attending sessions weekly during term time.

Now they’ve expanded to launching a new Northwich group, which will open at the Mid-Cheshire College Hartford Campus on September 9.

The theatre groups work towards two public performances per year, varying from traditional, scripted shows to devised work created by the group themselves.

Minerva also offers Arts Award, a nationally recognised qualification in the arts that at the top level, is worth 35 UCAS points.

Artistic Director Steph Brocken said: “Following on from the success of our Chester groups, we’re really excited to be opening a new group in Northwich and engaging more young people in the arts.

“We’re also really grateful to Mid-Cheshire College for agreeing to give us a home! The first session is a free taster so just turn up!” For more information, visit www.minervaarts.com .
