CHESTER farmer's girl Jackie Totty and David Beckham's former PA Rebecca Loos have got a lot in common.

Both are single and both girls came face to face with new love interests at the weekend in front of millions of viewers on the ITV dating show Love on a Saturday Night.

Jackie, 24, of Park Farm, Wimbolds Trafford, Chester, and Miss Loos both appeared in the first show of a new series on Saturday.

While Rebecca was able to choose a handsome man from the audience, Jackie was forced to choose between two mystery admirers after being set up by her dad Meirion and step-mum Susie.

The couple were concerned Jackie was spending too much time with her sheepdog Bob and wrote to the show, hosted by Davina McCall, in a bid to find her the man of her dreams.

Jackie was in the audience as her step-mum was meeting the show's hostess. But the tables were soon turned on Jackie as two mystery admirers appeared from the shadows and told of their secret love for her.

They were Sam Darlington, who works behind the bar at Jackie's local, The Shrewsbury Arms in Mickle Trafford, and farmer Julian Edge who met Jackie at a Cheshire Young Farmers ball at Rowton Hall Hotel, Chester, 10 years ago.

Sam, 25, told Davina he had fancied Jackie for a while but had failed to pluck up the courage to ask her out.

Julian also pledged his affection for Jackie but she turned him down in favour of Sam who will now enjoy a luxury date with Jackie at a health farm.

Jackie was this week coming to terms with her appearance on national television but was keeping quiet over how her relationship with Sam is developing.

'My parents arranged all of this in secret. It all came as a surprise. I had no idea whatsoever. I was petrified,' said Jackie.

'I had no idea who to pick when Sam and Julian appeared. I was upset I had to choose between them. Julian is all right about it. I don't know when Sam and I will be going to the health farm and whether we will be back on the show this Saturday.'

Asked whether she might find love with Sam, she said: 'We will have to wait and see.'
