CHILDREN at Mill View Primary School have a good idea of what the Queen does.

As part of the school’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations Brigadier John Thomson OBE, eputy lieutenant for Cheshire, was invited to the Upton school to give a presentation to junior children about the life and work of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Deputy headteacher Dave Wallace said: “The Brigadier fascinated the children with his insight into the Queen’s life.”

Further events are planned at the school to mark the Queen’s 60 years on the throne, including a 1950s tea party on June 17.
