Footballer Michael Owen and his wife Louise will compete on national television on Sunday to raise money for the Chester Childbirth Appeal.

The Stoke City footballer and Louise will be joined by Michael's mother Janette and sisters Karen and Lesley on the ITV gameshow All Star Family Fortunes on Sunday, March 3 at 7.45pm.

Michael and his wife Louise, whose four children were born at the Countess of Chester hospital, are principal patrons of the hospital's appeal which endeavours to provide a more home-like, personalised atmosphere within the safety of the hospital setting for mothers and children.

In the show, the Owen family will compete with Penny Lancaster and her family for the chance to win up to £30,000 for their charity.

DIrector for the Chester Childbirth Appeal Pat Daniels said: “We are delighted that our charity patrons Michael and Louise are trying to raise money for us on national television.”
