THE Mayor of Frodsham tried his hand at new life-saving equipment during a fun-filled festival in the town.

As families enjoyed dancing, singing, face painting and fairground games, Cllr Andrew Dawson learned how to use one of the defibrillators which he believes are essential to keep residents safe and well.

The defibrillator is one of four in the town, which are situated for public use in Gates’s Garage, the Leisure Centre, Overton Stores and Taylor’s Opticians.

Cllr Dawson learned how to use the equipment under the instruction of a team of volunteers from Heartstart, of Rainford, who were scouting the crowds for volunteers.
